EtherWAN, a leader in Ethernet connectivity solutions, releases the EX49000A series unmanaged hardened 16-port 10/100BASE PoE+ and 2-port Gigabit Ethernet switch at Secutech Taipei 2012, booth number K138-K143. Secutech is held from 18 - 20 April 2012 at Nangang Taipei World Trade Center, Taiwan.
PoE has been in use for a while now, but as businesses have continued to invest in their data network infrastructure, the need for higher power PoE systems is growing in demand. Devices like VoIP phones, WLAN access points, Web cameras and security cameras with pan, tilt and zoom capabilities are good examples of new devices that need more power.

EtherWAN’s new EX49000A unmanaged hardened switch provides 16 10/100BASE-TX PoE ports compliant with IEEE802.3at (also known as PoE+ or PoE plus) with full 30W from each 10/100TX port and 2 Gigabit ports. It supports versatile media on the Gigabit ports to provide the flexibility of fiber optic options and modular SFP interfaces to match different applications.

The EX49000A series operating temperature range is -40°C to 75°C for extreme environments (tested @ -40°C to 85°C). Thanks to the high-density port design, the EX49000A can connect up to 16 PoE+ power devices with each port feeding up to 30W guaranteed. The built-in Gigabit uplink ports can be connected to a Layer 2 managed switch, i.e. EtherWAN EX65000 series, to form a redundant network topology perfect for IP surveillance solutions in critical environments.

EtherWAN will also showcase more PoE products compliant with the IEEE802.3at standard for IP Surveillance during Secutech Taipei 2012. The new EX78000 series managed hardened 10-port 10/100BASE and 2-port Gigabit Ethernet switch, and the ED3146 series hardened 4-port 10/100BASE-TX PoE Ethernet Extender will both be introduced.

EtherWAN’s new EX78000 managed hardened switch provides flexibility of 10-port 10/100BASE-TX/FX/BX/SPF plus 2-port Gigabit-TX/SX/LX/SFP with full PoE function. The enhanced EX78000 series provides up to 30 watts power per port for up to 6 ports and 15.4W per port for the other 2 ports. This allows users freely configure all 8 PoE ports when connecting with either IEEE802.3af (15.4W/ea) or IEEE802.3at (30W/ea) devices. Total numbers of IEEE802.3at PoE ports are now upgraded from 4 to 6.

The ED3146 series is a multi-function device with a 4-port 10/100BASE PoE Ethernet switch, 2 ports may be PoE (30W) and a VDSL extender port. The ED3146, like other EtherWAN’s Ethernet extenders, allows long-distance Ethernet connectivity in existing infrastructure without changing cables. It works with telephone cable infrastructure reaching 50Mbps @ 300meters and up to 1.9km @ 1Mbps.

EtherWAN’s full PoE product line provides more advanced features to accommodate the trend of powering devices by the Ethernet cable, whether indoors or outside. EtherWAN specializes in designing and manufacturing Ethernet equipment for harsh environments. With commitments to technology know-how and product manufacturing quality, EtherWAN is ready to provide a complete connectivity solution for security and surveillance applications.
